Pregnant With Pets:
A Seminar for Expecting Parents with Pets
“Set your WHOLE family up to
succeed
when your new baby
arrives!”
Dr. Feltes earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine for The Ohio
State University in 2006. Upon moving back to the Cleveland
area, she married her husband in July 2006 and became a mother in
August 2007. At that time, a pet owner of 5 dogs, 1 cat, and a Thoroughbred,
(all of whom are behaviorally challenged), Dr. Feltes developed her
own behavioral modification plan to integrate her son successfully.
As
the owner of Animal Behavior
of Northeast Ohio, a practice limited to veterinary behavior, Dr.
Feltes often sees cases of aggression to children and realized the
need for prevention. She has decided
to share her behavioral modification plan in a seminar format. Pet
owners will learn steps to help
companion animals adjust to the arrival of a newborn into their family.
Seminar locations vary
but each class will last 1.5-2 hours
and will include a homework handout detailing information covered in the discussion. The class flow is an overview on how to ready the household for the bundle of joy. Pregnancy
is a time filled with unknowns. This class is designed to minimize
the uncertainty surrounding how
to best integrate the new baby with the beloved family pets.
Due to the birth of Dr. Feltes' second son, future PWP Seminars will soon be offered on our new Webinar Platform! Keep checking back often to schedule!
