1. Tell Us What’s Happening
with Your Pet

Call or email us to describe what challenges you are currently facing with your pet. Our team is happy to answer any questions you may have about care.  Please read through the complete "our process" page before using this online form to make sure we are the right fit for you and your family.

Not sure if your pet’s behavior is significant enough? If you are concerned enough to ask about your pet’s problem, it is worth talking to a professional for input. We do more than just problem behavior and our customer care team can review all the options we offer to help your pet.

The Pre-Consultation Appointment Via Telemedicine

Prior to your consultation with one of our veterinarians, you will participate in a 1 hour pre-consultation appointment with one of our experienced team members. Their goal is to provide initial steps to establish safety, prevention and management techniques specific to your situation now, before you meet with the veterinarian.

Pre-Consultation appointments are provided via telemedicine (video conference) through your pet's patient portal. You will need a smart phone, tablet, computer or laptop with video and audio capabilities. Our team is happy to help you test your set up prior to your appointment!

The cost of the Pre-Consultation appointment is $140 (this cost does NOT include additional products, services, or appointments).

Complete Your History Form

We want to know as much as we can about your pet before we meet them. Please complete your pet's history form and provide a short 3-5 minute video of your home showing where the pet spends their time, resting areas, food and water areas, toys, crates, and litterboxes. If you are able to safely obtain video of the problem behavior without causing harm to your pet, other animals or humans, you are welcome to submit it.

As a referral clinic, we will contact your veterinary clinic for medical records prior to appointments at TBC and for continuity of care, we send our records and lab testing results back to your veterinary clinic.

Review the Welcome Email for specific information about your appointment and scheduling related policies.

What to Expect at Your "Covid" Behavior Consultation

  • If you would prefer a combination Telemedicine/Curbside Care appointment, these are available. Please let our team know at booking.
  • Please allow for 48 business hours to avoid a $35 re-booking fee.  Same day changes  incur a $50 re-booking fee.
  • A reservation deposit is taken when an appointment is booked. This deposit is credited towards your invoice when you come for your appointment. This deposit is NOT REFUNDABLE for any reason.
  • PET INSURANCE:  Talk to your carrier BEFORE your appointments to confirm coverage. The Behavior Clinic provides no assurances of coverage.

3. Develop a Plan

After reviewing your pet's history form, observing and examining your pet, our veterinarians will make medical and behavioral recommendations based on your pet's diagnoses. We will provide you with multiple handouts and a detailed summary sheet of the full treatment plan.

Note: The consultation cost is $575. Your pet's treatment plan may include supplements, prescription medication, follow up appointments, lab testing and behavioral therapy session. These items are NOT included in the consultation fee. For budgeting purposes please know the average total appointment cost is between $700 and $1100.  Successful outcomes require ongoing monitoring and adjustments to the treatment plan which are accomplished through follow up appointments. We do not prescribe punishment (i.e., shock collars, prong collars, correction based training) to modify behavior.

4. Follow Your Pet’s Progress

Every consultation includes support by email from our team.  We will also follow your pet’s progress by performing Progress Evaluation appointments with a veterinarian every 1-3 months until your pet shows stability, or biannual evaluations thereafter. The cost of a Progress Evaluation is  $260-340 + any additional products or services.

Medications, supplements, products, and even treats are available through our pharmacy.  Our clients enjoy having access to our Auto-Refill (ARf) program which ships your pet's medication to your door every 3 months!

Behavior Therapy (Training) Appointments with our team are also part of successful treatment. This is where our team adjusts behavior therapy techniques and makes sure you and your pet are on the same page! Cost for a Behavior Therapy Appointment is $140/hr. These can be broken into 15 or 30 minute increments to help you and your pet work with us more frequently.
